Whitefield Academy welcomes back Coach Mike Muetzel.  Mike assisted Coach John Hunter on their way to an awesome season in 2016 including a playoff run to the Elite 8 in the GHSAA.

This offensive-minded coach was hired to be Head Coach at a new, start from scratch, varsity program at McIntosh High School. Within four short years, coaching one of the most explosive shooting teams in the state, his new program was playing in the State Championship Game. He was asked to be Head Coach in four Georgia State Varsity All Star games compiling a record of three wins against a single defeat. In 2007, he was recognized by his peers as the US Lacrosse Coach of the Year for Georgia, then a brief time later was named DI Coach of the Year in the SELC when he was at Auburn.

In addition on the travel circuit he has appeared in over 20 Championship Games, including the 2007 Copperheads U17 who captured the only National Championship by a Georgia Travel Lacrosse Team.
