I want to offer special thanks to Coach B for his second article in our library by this really cool coach. Read this and you will never coach your goalies the same way you do now in practice again… by the way he still steps in the nets!!

    Looking forward to the book – as a former DIII goalie turned goalie coach, this info expands on some familiar info that has been tucked away in the back of my head.

    Looking for coach B’s e-book for goalies. Not finding it on 313 LAX site. Can anyone help.

  4. coach B Says:

    Guys the e-book has been delayed by too much lax. I promise to have it by the end of the year. Ive made progress but its still not ready. It will be worth the wait. – coach B

    Coach B thanks a lot for the tips. I have a quick question for you. Do you have any links or drills for hand eye agility drills?

    @lapro63139

    I endorse using as many “blind drills” as possible to increase hand eye. Here a few simple and effective classics.

    Tennis balls saves facing away- goalie faces the wall. coach faces the wall a few feet behind. coach calls shot and tosses a ball. goalie has to pivot, find and save.

    Tennis ball over the shoulder. goalie faces the wall. coach faces the wall. coach shoots or tosses a ball at the wall. goalie has to find ball coming off the wall and save. use shot call or not for more difficulty.

    Back pipe drill- goalie in cage facing top left. coach in the slot on the right side. goalie has to be looking away. call shot and put shot on cage back pipe. goalie has to find ball while exploding across crease, make save. start with easy saves and shots further out. as goalie masters move in and increase velocity to add difficulty. Switch sides to have goalie make saves from opposite pipe.

    good luck and good lax!
