Andrew Towers, a former All-America selection, begins his second season as the head lacrosse coach for Dartmouth Big Green men’s lacrosse team. and it will be his sixth year with the program.

Towers has enjoyed a 14-year career as a collegiate lacrosse coach. Prior to his seasons with the Big Green, Towers spent the 2004 season as the head coach at the University of Hartford preceded by two years at Fairfield University as the assistant head coach as he helped guide the Stags and a career.

I had a blast in this passionate interview with a great coach, Coach Towers covers a Dartmouth Lacrosse Practice Plan format, that begins uniquely with a fast paced, competitive set of lacrosse drills he describes as ‘Pressure Cooker Lacrosse Drills.’ Following stickwork in lacrosse practice they move into some type of ‘Toughness Lacrosse Drill’, and then move into an hour of different, competitive but mostly ‘even’ lacrosse drills to wrap up lacrosse practice. It is interesting how he adds competition to every lacrosse drill. He highly recommends the Dartmouth Camps (on their website) for any players considering Dartmouth, check it out,

He offered some unique twists on a full field midfield ground ball lacrosse drill, up and back and I loved his Swing Lacrosse Drill that he and Coach Torpey run in a number of different schemes. You can click the Preview Sample to hear him describe this fun variation on 2V1 or 3V2 lacrosse drills for lacrosse practice in his own words, then take a look at our article on the ‘Swing Drill’ in the article section with many other lacrosse drills.
