In our recent Podcast with Coach Cantabene from Stevenson University he shared an awesome Man Up lacrosse play, run out of the 2-3-1 set. As many of us have kind of gravitated to the 3-3 to keep all the shooters out front, Coach Cantabene, a great offensive coach, still leans towards the 2-3-1.
This play is relatively basic, but very effective and easy to coach. I find it unique as it begins with a movement away from the cage, a quick pass back off a roll, then and a quick pass to a cutter. As with all strong plays on Man Up the keys are,
1)Offensive spacing, forcing longer slides
2)The ability to get the defensive moving into unfamiliar territory
